Most of the members of the Malacology Laboratory are students from the undergraduate (BS Biology, Major in Zoology, Systematics, and Ecology) and graduate (MSc and PhD Zoology, and Wildlife Science, and MSc and PhD Environmental Science) programs of the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Senior high school students can also be accommodated, on a limited basis, for their research internship. Students are trained how to critically design, conduct and publish sound malacological researches under the close supervision of the laboratory head. Both laboratory and field-based studies are very much encouraged for the students to enrich their understanding and appreciation of the wonderful world of mollusks.
